About The Position

Paramedics are responsible for responding to requests for emergency medical services and provide both Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) care, as appropriate. Paramedics must demonstrate competency in delivering excellent care to sick and injured patients (adults/children/infants) and possess the knowledge and the necessary skills to provide lifesaving interventions in a pre-hospital setting, both on-scene as well as during transport to a hospital Emergency Department (based on protocols or physician medical direction).

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Thorough knowledge of paramedic principles, practices and techniques.
Knowledge of how various equipment such as a monitor or defibrillator work and how to troubleshoot problems that may arise.
Active Paramedic certification with NREMT by the time of hire.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
Ability to be licensed as a Paramedic in both ND (ND Department of Health) and MN (Minnesota Office of EMS).
Maintain current driver's license and exceptional driving record for purposes of insurability.
Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check will be completed annually.

Previous Paramedic experience preferred.
