About The Position

Superior Ambulance Service provides emergency medical services and scheduled medical transportation across the Midwest. Paramedics provide safe transportation and quality medical care to sick and injured individuals within the scope of state EMS regulations. This role is listed for multiple locations, including Elgin, Illinois. The Paramedic provides appropriate care within their training, assesses patients and communicates their condition to medical professionals, documents patient condition and treatment, and maintains the ambulance in sanitary and operational condition. Safe and efficient patient transportation is also essential.

Requirements

Hold NREMT (National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians) certification or a current state license, or have one pending.
Be able to provide medical care at the EMT or Paramedic level while safely transporting patients.
Have a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
Be able to safely operate a vehicle in varied conditions, including daytime, nighttime, and inclement weather.
Pass a pre-employment interview, physical and lifting examination, drug screen, and background check.
Attend company-provided training and driving course.

Responsibilities

Provide appropriate patient care within the scope of Paramedic training.
Transport patients safely and efficiently, including reading maps and accurately identifying street names, house numbers, and business addresses.
Assess patients appropriately and accurately convey their condition to other medical professionals.
Write accurate reports describing the patient's condition, medical history, and treatment provided.
Complete appropriate documentation for billing information.
Maintain the vehicle in sanitary condition and monitor fluid levels and gauges.
