About The Position

Superior Ambulance Service provides emergency medical services and scheduled medical transports across the Midwest. Paramedics provide safe transportation and quality medical care to sick and injured individuals within the scope of state EMS regulations. This role is available at multiple locations, including Aurora, Illinois. The Paramedic assesses patients, provides care appropriate to their training, communicates patient conditions to other medical professionals, and documents patient condition, medical history, treatment, and billing information. The role also involves safe and efficient transportation and maintaining the ambulance in sanitary condition while monitoring fluid levels and gauges.

Requirements

NREMT certification or a current state license, or a license pending.
Ability to provide medical care at the EMT or Paramedic level while safely transporting patients.
Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
Ability to safely operate a vehicle in daytime, nighttime, and inclement weather conditions.
Must pass a pre-employment interview, physical and lifting examination, drug screen, and background check.

Responsibilities

Provide appropriate patient care within Paramedic training.
Transport patients safely and efficiently, using map-reading skills and accurately identifying street names, house numbers, and business addresses.
Assess patients and accurately communicate their conditions to other medical professionals.
Prepare accurate written reports describing patient condition, medical history, and treatment provided.
Complete appropriate documentation for billing information.
Maintain the vehicle in sanitary condition and monitor fluid levels and gauges.
Attend company-provided training and driving course.
