About The Position

Superior Ambulance Service is hiring EMTs to provide safe transportation and quality medical care to sick and injured individuals, including emergency and scheduled medical transports. The company operates in multiple locations across Illinois and is a large independent, locally owned and operated emergency medical services provider in the Midwest. EMTs provide care within the scope of their training and applicable state EMS regulations. The position includes assessing patients, communicating their condition to medical professionals, documenting care, transporting patients safely and maintaining the ambulance.

Requirements

EMT National Registry certification and/or a current state license, or pending licensure.
Ability to provide medical care at the EMT or Paramedic level while safely transporting patients.
Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
Ability to safely operate a vehicle in daytime, nighttime, and inclement weather.
Pass a pre-employment interview, physical and lifting examination, and drug screening.
Attend company-provided training and driving course.

Responsibilities

Provide appropriate patient care within EMT training.
Safely transport patients, using map-reading skills and accurately identifying street names, house numbers, and business addresses to select an expedient route.
Assess patients and accurately communicate their condition to other medical professionals.
Prepare accurate written reports describing the patient's condition, medical history, and treatment provided.
Provide appropriate documentation for billing information.
Maintain the vehicle in sanitary condition and monitor fluid levels and gauges.
