Paramedic - St. Charles Parish EMS - PRN
About The Position
This job communicates effectively with co-workers, patients, family, and visitors. Provides a safe work environment for the patient and performs all functions as delegated by the staff Registered Nurse, and/or via written protocol, as approved by the Medical Director or Staff MD. Works collaboratively with and under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse to provide for the delivery of patient care through the use of the nursing process. Provides care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria appropriate to the ages of patients served in assigned areas. Provides customer service to patients, families and staff. Adapts to change in a positive, constructive manner. Participates in activities for professional development and maintains required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training and credentials. Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to: respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style. Other related duties as required.
Requirements
- Graduate from accredited paramedic program with a license to practice in the State of Louisiana
- 4 years current paramedic field care experience
- National Registry license to practice in the State of Mississippi
- CPR Healthcare Provider Certification
- Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to and experience working with and maintaining confidential information.
- Ability to and experience working in a fast-paced environment.
Nice To Haves
- Prior air medical transport experience
- BCLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP
