Primary duties of the EMT-Paramedic include, but are not limited to, assessing the nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures, driving ambulances or other vehicles to specified locations, assisting in rescuing victims, operating advanced life support equipment, performing emergency diagnostic and treatment procedures, observing and reporting patient conditions to physicians, administering drugs, coordinating with other emergency personnel, immobilizing patients for transport, communicating with dispatchers, decontaminating ambulance interiors, completing patient treatment documentation in KCEAA’s E-PCR software, performing inspections and inventory of supplies and equipment, comforting patients, and attending training classes to maintain certification and stay updated on new developments in emergency services.
