About The Position

This is a full-time Paramedic position with UF Jacksonville EMS, working day shifts from 8 am to 8 pm. The role involves providing patient care in accordance with hospital policy and Florida Department of Emergency Medical Services guidelines, utilizing Advanced Life Support equipment and demonstrating knowledge of various physiological systems. The paramedic must be able to adapt to new equipment, work in stressful situations, and possess strong customer relations and organizational skills.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Florida Paramedic License
• BLS from the American Heart Association
• ACLS from the American Heart Association
• PALS from the American Heart Association
• 2 or more years of driving experience
• Must be insurable by the hospital's business auto insurance carrier.
• Valid Florida Driver's License
• Less than 1 year of EMS of healthcare field experience

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree
• National Registry Paramedic
• ACLS Instructor
• PALS Instructor
• PHTLS
• Emergency Pediatric Care
• Over 2-3 years of field experience in an active 911 Emergency Medical Service

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Hospital Policy, and the Florida Department of Emergency Medical Services guidelines in providing patient care.
• Familiar with Advanced Life Support patient care equipment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of pathophysiology related to cardiac, pulmonary, renal and neurological systems.
• Ability to learn and adapt to new equipment.
• Ability to work in highly stressful situation.
• Customer relations and organization skills are essential.
