This is a PRN position where the Transport Paramedic, under the direction of the Program Director/Manager and Medical Director, is responsible for the assessment, triage, treatment, and evaluation of patients during ground transport. The role requires autonomous functioning using medical protocols and advanced skills, with a focus on providing comprehensive patient care and accurate documentation. The Transport Paramedic also serves as a resource for team members, possesses strong communication and interpersonal skills for high-stress environments and community outreach, and is instrumental in upholding the mission and goals of UF Health Jacksonville with safety as the highest priority. This role involves being a lead worker on an ALS ambulance, rendering initial patient evaluations, performing advanced life support procedures, and supervising/evaluating assigned drivers. Additionally, the Transport Paramedic may assist in the trauma center and emergency department when not actively transporting and is responsible for operating all hospital-owned vehicles in compliance with local and state standards.
