About The Position

The Rice Lake critical care transport team includes Critical Care Paramedics, Registered Nurses, and Emergency Medical Technicians – Basic and Advance. This team provides care and management of patients of all ages and acuity in a mobile environment for 911 and interfacility transports. Patient care is determined on patient needs, acuity, assessment, and written/protocol orders under the direction of a medical provider. Our team is dedicated to providing extraordinary care to patients throughout their transport and beyond. We offer 12 and 24 hour shifts, weekend and holiday rotations and self-scheduling. Please note that the Rice Lake Ambulance Team has an onsite Station Dog.

Requirements

  • Paramedic: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Paramedic: A minimum of two years of experience as a paramedic in an Ambulance setting.
  • Paramedic: Thorough knowledge of paramedic principles, practices and techniques.
  • Paramedic: Knowledge of how various equipment such as a monitor or defibrillator work and how to troubleshoot problems that may arise.
  • Paramedic: Must hold national registry status at a Paramedic level.
  • Paramedic: Requires a Wisconsin Paramedic license.
  • Registered Nurse: Graduate from an accredited nursing program required.
  • Registered Nurse: Currently holds an unencunbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
  • Requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Requires National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) Incident Command System (ICS)100, 200, and 700 completed.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License and have a good driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Paramedic: Associates Degree in Paramedic Technology or Paramedicine preferred.
  • Registered Nurse: Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or equivalent, advanced version for paramedics, International Trauma Life Support (ITLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred depending on location.
