About The Position

Under limited supervision, the Paramedic-Lead supports the EMS Manager by providing field-level supervision, operational coordination, and administrative assistance necessary to maintain safe, effective, and compliant EMS operations. This role functions as a working paramedic while also assisting with shift oversight, quality assurance activities, training support, and day-to-day operational tasks. The Paramedic-Lead may assist in providing immediate corrective coaching and initiate preliminary documentation of observed performance or safety issues. The Paramedic-Lead does not possess independent managerial authority and reports to the EMS Manager.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of EMS field experience.
  • Verifiable lead or supervisory experience in the EMS field.
  • Completion of State of Louisiana Department of Health and Hospital and Bureau of Emergency Medical Certification obtained through National Registry of Emergency medical Technician’s testing.
  • Current certification by State of Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation/AED certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
  • Licensed Paramedic Certification in the State of Louisiana.
  • Valid Louisiana Class D driver’s license.
  • Provide and maintain required certifications (NREMT, BLS, ACLS, PALS, etc.).
  • Clean driving record.
  • Pass a criminal background check.
  • Honest and exhibit good moral/ethical behavior.
  • Satisfactory physical condition, including back, vision and hearing.
  • Must submit accurate, detailed application forms providing all requested information, including descriptions of work experience, names, and addresses of previous employers and dates employed.
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
