About The Position

Provides high quality, individualized, family centered care to pediatric patients/families. Care of the patient is supported through the use of the Paramedic scope of practice in accordance with standards and hospital policies and procedures. Varied schedules to include weekend and holiday patterns.

Requirements

  • Completion of a Paramedic program Required
  • Minimum 1 year of ALS or hospital based paramedic experience Required
  • Must be able to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature, without loss of efficiency or composure and be able to perform under stressful conditions when confronted with multiple requests, demonstrating prioritizing skills
  • Current and Valid Nebraska Paramedic license Required
  • Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association Required
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 180 Days Required
  • ACLS within 180 Days Required
  • Quick View Assessment training within 180 Days Required
  • Triage training within 180 Days Required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Emergency Medical Services or related health care field Preferred
  • Current and valid National Registry Paramedic license (required for ED) Preferred
  • NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conducts individualized age-specific patient/family assessments according to defined paramedic standards, or protocols.
  • Adheres to individualized patient/family plan of care to meet identified needs.
  • Implements and evaluates actions in accordance with the individualized patient/family plan of care and patient condition/needs.
  • Documentation reflects accurate assessment/evaluation, modification, and patients response to therapy, changes in condition, and therapeutic interventions/procedures.
  • Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the job.
  • Perform physical requirements as described in the Physical Requirements section
