Requirements

A valid Iowa Advanced EMT or Paramedic Certification is essential.
Maintaining ongoing education and certifications from the IDPH Bureau of EMS.
Basic Life Support certification.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification (paramedic).
Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification (paramedic) upon hire.
Neonatal Resuscitation (paramedic) certification within one year of hire.
A current Iowa Driver’s License is required.
Must have clinical knowledge necessary to competently perform quality patient care duties as defined in job responsibilities and as appropriate for level of certification.
Must be able to read, write, and follow written or oral instructions.
Must maintain knowledge and skills in all areas within scope of practice.
Must demonstrate strong customer service skills display a high degree of empathy tact and kindness toward others have ability to communicate well and work effectively with others and be a team player.
National Registry Advanced EMT/Paramedic Certification.

Nice To Haves

PHTLS certification is preferred.
