Requirements

  • A valid Iowa Advanced EMT or Paramedic Certification is essential.
  • Maintaining ongoing education and certifications from the IDPH Bureau of EMS.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification (paramedic).
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification (paramedic) upon hire.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation (paramedic) certification within one year of hire.
  • A current Iowa Driver’s License is required.
  • Must have clinical knowledge necessary to competently perform quality patient care duties as defined in job responsibilities and as appropriate for level of certification.
  • Must be able to read, write, and follow written or oral instructions.
  • Must maintain knowledge and skills in all areas within scope of practice.
  • Must demonstrate strong customer service skills display a high degree of empathy tact and kindness toward others have ability to communicate well and work effectively with others and be a team player.
  • National Registry Advanced EMT/Paramedic Certification.

Nice To Haves

  • PHTLS certification is preferred.
