Paramedic - Critical Care Transport - FT
About The Position

The critical care transport team includes Critical Care Paramedics, Registered Nurses, and Emergency Medical Technicians – Basic and Advance. This teams provides care and management of patients of all ages and acuity in a mobile environment for interfacility transports. Patient care is determined on patient needs, acuity, assessment, and written/protocol orders under the direction of a medical provider. Our team is dedicated to providing extraordinary care to patients throughout their transport and beyond.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A minimum of two years of experience as a paramedic in an Ambulance setting.
- Thorough knowledge of paramedic principles, practices and techniques.
- Knowledge of how various equipment such as a monitor or defibrillator work and how to troubleshoot problems that may arise.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- National registry status at a Paramedic level.
- State license as required depending upon state.
- Paramedic (PAR) Certification.
- National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) Incident Command System (ICS)100, 200, and 700 completed.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Good driving record.
Nice To Haves
- Associates Degree in Paramedic Technology or Paramedicine preferred.
- Prehospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or equivalent, advanced version for paramedics.
- International Trauma Life Support (ITLS).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred depending on location.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced medical care to patients.
- Provide patient care and transportation.
- Assist and give direction to additional EMS Responders at the scene and/or during transport.
- Act as the key contact for EMS while on scene.
- Provide support for management and staff.
- Monitor productivity and track Emergency Medical Services (EMS).
- Assist management in EMS Operations, including keeping up with regulations, licensing, staffing, staff education, equipment maintenance, finance, and quality assurance as needed.
- Act as a formal resource for EMS staff.
- Assist with patient care in the receiving facility.
- Lift and move patients as required.
- Attend training classes to maintain national certification, state licensure, and keep abreast of new developments in the field, or maintain existing knowledge.
- Provide a welcoming and educational environment for students and complete any academic assessments in a timely manner.
