About The Position

Intelligence Federal is a fast-growing federal contracting company seeking a Paralegal to support our contract with the Department of Commerce. This is an integral role that works actively with experienced government attorneys to further the agency's mission. This team helps to ensure the Department’s laws and regulations are properly reviewed, legally sound, and aligned with government requirements. It also works closely with other agencies to coordinate and guide how legislation and regulations are developed and implemented.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Recent JD graduates are also encouraged to apply.
  • Minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of experience as a paralegal.
  • Knowledge of Paralegal methods, practices, and procedures.
  • Proficient in litigation discovery software and MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Adobe PDF.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work well within groups handling large volume of work.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with FOIA.
  • Must be able to obtain and keep a Public Trust clearance which includes a detailed criminal background check and credit check

Responsibilities

  • Position will focus on document preparation (compiling, redacting), summarizing requests and related documentation, preparing notices, and filing documents with the courts.
  • Responsible for assisting Attorneys as they defend the department in cases challenging the department’s denial of exclusion requests.
  • Prepare administrative records for public and confidential filing in the Court of International Trade.
  • Analyze documents for confidential business information, removes documents with confidential business information from public filing, and replaces the document with properly redacted version.
  • Redact PII from records and prepare indices.
  • Prepare spreadsheet summarizing key facts for each exclusion request at issue using raw documents for each exclusion request.
  • Assist attorneys using Relativity to review records for potential inclusion in filings and properly code records.
  • Track the status of any challenged exclusion request.
  • Prepare and review draft Department of Justice court filings.
  • Prepare and review internal or external written clearances and/or memoranda in connection with litigation, settlements, and appeals.
  • Manage litigation team calendar of filing deadlines.
  • Compile and submit quarterly report of litigation team hours.
