About The Position

Messner Reeves LLP, a national law firm, is seeking an experienced and highly qualified Litigation Paralegal to join our team in California. This role requires proficiency in federal and state court procedures, including E-Filing, and extensive experience in research, pre-trial preparation, and trial assistance. The ideal candidate will manage multiple attorneys' full caseloads, coordinate heavy scheduling and calendaring, and maintain significant client and opposing counsel contact. Responsibilities include organizing case files and documents, and utilizing a document management system. A strong work ethic and consistent schedule are essential.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of Paralegal experience
  • Defense Law experience
  • Paralegal Certificate
  • Must be located in California
  • Experience with document management system
  • Well versed in both federal and state court procedure and filing requirements, to include E-Filing in federal court.
  • Research proficient, pre-trial prep, and trial assistance experience.
  • Experience handling multiple attorneys with full caseloads.
  • Must demonstrate a strong worth ethic and consistent schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full caseloads for multiple attorneys.
  • Coordinate heavy scheduling and calendaring for attorney meetings, court deadlines, and depositions.
  • Handle heavy client contact, contact with witnesses, and opposing counsel to obtain information pertinent to case matters.
  • Organize records, documents, correspondence, and files into a manageable format.
  • Utilize document management systems.
  • Provide research, pre-trial preparation, and trial assistance.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state court procedure and filing requirements, including E-Filing in federal court.
