About The Position

You will be a valued member of the Citizens Legal Department’s Corporate Transactions Group supporting the attorneys on the team. You will also work in collaboration with other paralegals on the team as appropriate. The ideal candidate will have experience working as a paralegal on commercial transactions (including, preferably, vendor contracts and commercial real estate transactions) in a corporate or law firm environment.

  • Proficiency on a PC platform and using computer software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Adobe Acrobat)
  • Excellent word processing skills including the ability to redline contracts using Microsoft Word or similar tools, properly format complex contracts (including, but not limited to, multi-level lists (auto-numbering), Tables of Contents, multiple Sections within the same contract, Excel formulas, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years as a Paralegal in a corporate or law firm environment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working on real estate transactions preferred but not required
  • Experience working with contract management software (e.g., Ariba and/or Icertis) preferred but not required
  • Interest and experience in using artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies.
  • A Paralegal degree or certification is a plus but is not required

Responsibilities

  • Serving as the primary point of contact for internal contract requests, managing the vendor contract inflow from Citizens’ procurement group
  • Creating initial drafts of form agreements and other documents for review by attorneys
  • Formatting, proofreading, and assisting attorneys with the review of documents
  • Leading review of form agreements, such as non-disclosure agreements
  • Preparing closing checklists and finalizing contract documents
  • Assisting attorneys in updating and maintaining Citizens’ contract templates
  • Interfacing with the procurement group and other departments to collect information, responding to requests, managing workflow and addressing issues
  • Working daily with internal contract management systems (e.g., Ariba and Icertis) and other technology to complete tasks
  • Providing general administrative support to attorneys including scheduling meetings, distributing information and managing routine correspondence and assisting on special projects and initiatives
  • Assisting with providing training and guidance to the procurement group and other internal stakeholders.
