About The Position

The Paralegal role is a professional, corporate contributor with strong paralegal and executive level administrative skill sets. The Paralegal provides confidential, complex paralegal and administrative support, requiring a high degree of responsibility for project implementation and knowledge of specialized practices and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Paralegal Certification
  • A minimum of (5) five years of corporate administrative experience
  • Previous experience working in a law office or legal department
  • Must be a highly motivated, organized professional with a strong legal terminology background
  • A high level of initiative is essential
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Must be committed to fostering professional, cooperative and supportive work relationships within the Legal Department and the company
  • Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft applications, including Outlook, Work, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must possess the ability to handle an array of confidential matters and maintain the highest level of confidentiality
  • Superior problem-solving, conflict resolution and/or mediation skills
  • Ability to make mature judgment calls
  • Work well under pressure and with tight deadlines
  • Exemplary communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to provide accurate, concise, ethical and timely work
  • Knowledge of office management principles and procedures
  • Proper English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation
  • Detail-oriented

  • Previous litigation and claims experience

Responsibilities

  • Support all phases of litigation and claims, including case management, document management, organization, and delivery of information and documentation to outside counsel and Third-Party Administrators.
  • In conjunction with Legal Counsel, review Pleadings and coordinate Discovery responses.
  • Create and maintain internal case files through iManage.
  • Manage Legal vendors and litigation billing process.
  • Draft, issue and track legal holds.
  • Draft, review, edit, package and proofread correspondence and reports; screen, analyze and respond to incoming correspondence.
  • Assist with responses to letters of representation, records requests, and subpoenas.
  • Assist with identification and implementation of new legal technology initiatives.
  • Assist in creation and maintenance of legal department policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a Notary Public.
  • Support special projects and initiatives, and perform other duties as assigned.
