Paralegal

Topsort•Somerville, MA

About The Position

Topsort is hiring a Paralegal to support its legal operations as the company grows internationally. The role works closely with an attorney on commercial contracting, compliance, and corporate matters, improves legal workflows, and independently manages routine requests within approved guidelines. The Paralegal reviews incoming contracts, identifies deviations for attorney review, prepares routine agreements from approved templates, manages standard NDAs, and coordinates contracts through signature. The role also coordinates responses to customer questionnaires, RFPs, and vendor onboarding with relevant teams, and develops resources for common legal questions. The position manages legal intake, contract records, templates, and playbooks; uses approved tools, AI, and automation where appropriate while protecting confidential information; tracks legal and compliance deadlines; prepares policy drafts for attorney review; and summarizes relevant legal and regulatory developments. Corporate support includes international entity management, notarization and apostille processes, and coordination with outside counsel, including invoices and legal spend. During attorney absences, the Paralegal keeps routine requests and pending matters moving within approved guidelines and escalates matters requiring legal judgment. Success means efficient and accurate routine contract execution, reliable deadline tracking and records, organized legal requests, useful self-service resources, and sound escalation and continuity practices.
