About The Position

Works with and supports in-house counsel and outside attorneys in providing a wide range of legal services to CVG Airport. Assists attorneys on primary duties and assigned projects for CVG Airport departments. Provides legal and administrative support on a wide variety of legal and litigation matters exercising independent judgment and discretion in handling issues, matters, projects, and delegated assignments.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in paralegal studies, or associate degree and a paralegal certificate
  • 3 years of paralegal experience, or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
  • Maintain Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) clearance
  • KY Notary Public license or ability to acquire within 3 months of hire date
  • Legal concepts, requirements, documents, contracts, laws, and regulations
  • Modern office procedures, methods, and computer equipment
  • Proficient with Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems
  • Federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Legal research and writing
  • Clearly and effectively communicating both orally and in writing
  • Critical thinking and analysis
  • Working with confidential and sensitive information

Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research, analysis, and provide written analysis to attorneys.
  • Prepare, format, draft, review, and proofread a variety of documents, memoranda, and correspondence.
  • Monitor legislation and regulatory changes; assist with drafting and coordinating comments.
  • Review statutory and regulatory requirements and assist with interpretation and guidance on compliance.
  • Coordinate with counsel, risk management, and insurers on claims and litigation.
  • Maintain case files, prepare and update summaries, status reports, calendar deadlines, and ensure litigation files are properly organized and securely maintained.
  • Collect, organize, and track records and documents for litigation; assist with discovery interrogatories and document requests.
  • Monitors and reviews public records requests, coordinates records collection, and reviews records for excepted information. Prepares and reviews outgoing information, coordinates attorney review, and provides response to requestor.
  • Organize and maintain department files and ensure compliance with record retention policies.
  • Draft, review, and record real estate related documents.
  • Assist with the drafting, revising, and review of transactional and contract matters.
  • Review, prepare, update, and maintain library of standard forms and templates.
  • Review and assist in updating policies and KCAB rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for all contract management activities as documented in KCAB Policy 1014, Contract Management.
  • Provide administrative support for the Legal department.
  • Attend Board meetings as needed and serve as backup to write meeting minutes.
  • Assists with managing and tracking departmental budget and projecting budgetary needs.
  • Act as a notary public, notarizing CVGAA documents as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain various reports as required.
  • Serves as a member of CVGAA’s Covered Entity and is responsible for ensuring the privacy and security of Protected Health Information in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and KCAB Policy 1040.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
