About The Position

Friendly Franchisees Corporation (FFC)/ Silver Star Real Estate (SSRE) is a privately owned business dedicated to operational excellence, exceptional customer service, and strong performance across the real estate, multifamily, commercial, and restaurant industries. We are looking for a highly organized and detail‑oriented Paralegal to join our team. This role supports our legal team in managing contracts, compliance, corporate governance, litigation matters, landlord‑tenant issues, and unlawful detainer (eviction) actions, with regular court appearances.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
  • 3+ years of paralegal experience in real estate, landlord‑tenant law, corporate law, franchise operations, or property management
  • Prior experience handling eviction matters, and court filings preferred
  • Strong understanding of contracts, legal documents, landlord‑tenant law, and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Comfortable appearing in court and interacting with judges, attorneys, tenants, and property managers

Nice To Haves

  • Paralegal certification from an accredited program preferred
  • Experience with legal document management systems is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire eviction process from start to finish, commencing with initial notices through lockouts
  • Prepare and file eviction notices, unlawful detainer actions, and related court documents
  • Represent the company in eviction hearings, small claims matters, and settlement conferences
  • Coordinate with outside counsel in California, Arizona, and other jurisdictions
  • Knowledge of correct forms and processes in L.A., Orange, Bakersfield, Riverside, and San Diego counties
  • Timely and detailed communication and tracking of all actions with operations and property management teams
  • Track court deadlines, hearing dates, judgments, and enforcement actions
  • Gather documentation and evidence supporting legal actions
  • Draft, review, and manage contracts, including leases, vendor agreements, and franchise-related documents
  • Ensure contract compliance and maintain accurate records in the company’s document management system
  • Conduct legal research on real estate law, landlord‑tenant law, employment law, corporate compliance, and other legal topics
  • Prepare summaries, reports, memos, and correspondence related to legal matters
  • Assist with document preparation for litigation, arbitration, mediation, and other legal proceedings
  • Assist in maintaining corporate records, including resolutions, minutes, and filings
  • Support preparation and filing of documents with state and federal agencies
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for the real estate, restaurant, and commercial industries
  • Work with internal teams to ensure adherence to company policies and legal standards
  • Support internal audits and compliance reviews
  • Provide administrative support to the legal team, including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and organizing files
  • Manage and track deadlines, including legal filings, court appearances, and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain organized legal files, case logs, and documentation systems
