About The Position

Bunge has an opportunity available for an experienced Paralegal to support the Labor, Employment and Litigation team to join its Legal team based in our St. Louis corporate headquarters. The Paralegal will report to an Associate General Counsel and will support the Legal team.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies or its equivalent experience with a minimum work experience of five plus years as a litigation or labor and employment paralegal
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities
  • Ability to work independently and complete assignments in a timely manner
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills required
  • Working knowledge of MS Office solutions, including OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, e-billing and matter management tools (Legal Tracker), document/contract management systems, and Adobe.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative agency and litigation support in a wide range of commercial disputes as well as commercial, tort, and employment litigation including:
  • Administer the legal hold process
  • Draft, issue, track, and release legal holds
  • Draft Questionnaires for legal holds
  • Interview legal hold custodians
  • Draft position statements in response to administrative agency charges
  • Compile and collect documents responsive to legal holds
  • Collect and gather electronic records subject to legal holds
  • Collect, compile, organize, and label documents responsive to discovery, including e-discovery
  • Draft and/or review discovery responses
  • Compile and prepare exhibits for pleadings, positions statements, claim letters, depositions, etc.
  • Administer the collection of judgments and payments on Promissory Notes
  • Support investigations and discovery by
  • Preparing witness interview questions
  • Researching and collecting factual information using internal resources, contacts, public records and on-line resources
  • Conducting electronic searches (e.g., e-mail, instant and text messages, etc.) and review and summarize search results
  • Collecting, reviewing and analyzing documents and data
  • Manage immigration matters
  • Prepare responses to subpoenas, employee records requests, and document requests
  • Draft and review legal documents
  • Conduct legal research (Lexis and PLC)
  • Assist with training including preparing and presenting
  • Provide support in response to governmental agency inspections
  • Serve as the Legal team’s record information manager and administer Bunge’s record retention program
  • Support special projects and initiatives and perform other duties as assigned
