Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or Paralegal Certification; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5 or more years of Arizona experience as a paralegal in bankruptcy law or creditors' rights.
  • Relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.
  • Strong understanding of bankruptcy procedures, including Chapter 7, 11, and 13 filings, and Arizona trustee sales.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys in preparing demand letters, filing breach of contract actions, trustee’s sales, and filing bankruptcy related documents.
  • Conduct legal research and review case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to bankruptcy and creditors' rights.
  • Manage and organize case files, correspondence, and documentation to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
  • Communicate with clients, courts, creditors, and other stakeholders to gather information and provide updates.
  • Monitor deadlines and court schedules to ensure timely submissions and filings.
  • Draft legal documents, motions, and pleadings under attorney supervision.
  • Support the preparation for hearings, mediations, and negotiations.
  • Maintain knowledge of current bankruptcy laws, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and related procedures, and best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.
