Paralegal - Family Law
About The Position
Burnham Law is seeking a Paralegal to join their team. The firm is an elite Colorado- and Arizona-based law firm specializing in Domestic Relations, Civil Litigation, and Criminal Defense. Requirements
- Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or Paralegal Certificate
- 2+ years of paralegal experience in domestic relations (family law) and/or criminal law preferred
- Experience with case management software (e.g., Filevine, Google Calendaring)
- Strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong client communication skills and professional demeanor.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel), Adobe, and Mac products.
- High attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
Nice To Haves
- 2+ years of paralegal experience in domestic relations (family law) and/or criminal law
Responsibilities
- Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, disclosures, discovery requests, and correspondence.
- Assist attorneys with case management, calendaring, deadlines, and trial preparation.
- Maintain and organize electronic case files and documents within the firm's case management systems.
- Communicate professionally with clients, providing updates and gathering information as needed.
- Conduct legal research using platforms such as Westlaw.
- Assist with preparing exhibits, binders, witness lists, and trial notebooks.
- Manage discovery processes, including organizing, reviewing, and summarizing documents.
- Coordinate court filing, e-filing, and service processes.
- Support attorneys during hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
- Collaborate with legal assistants and other administrative staff to ensure cases are moving forward efficiently.
- Perform other duties assigned to support smooth legal operations.
