This role performs substantive legal work under the guidance of an in-house attorney for a mortgage servicing company. It involves preparing, reviewing, and editing contracts such as master services agreements, statements of work, servicer notices, subservicing agreements, powers of attorney, and confidentiality agreements. The position also maintains a file system for powers of attorney and executed agreements, and cooperates with operational leaders to finalize contract terms and understand contractual rights and obligations. This position is primarily work-from-home, with occasional visits to the ServiceMac Fort Mill office required for document execution and related activities.

Requirements

  • Typically requires 3–5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Paralegal Certificate required
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures within the legal field
  • Intermediate research, analysis, and summarization skills
  • Strong computer proficiency, including experience with standard office and legal software
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills
  • Solid understanding of laws and regulations applicable to corporations
  • Detail‑oriented with a high degree of accuracy
  • Working knowledge of contracts and contract administration
  • Excellent time management, organizational, decision‑making, presentation, and human relations skills

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and edit a wide range of contracts and agreements
  • Partner with operations leaders to review, negotiate, and finalize contract terms
  • Prepare legal notices, including contract termination and demand letters
  • Manage and maintain the client power of attorney library
  • Maintain an organized electronic repository of executed agreements
  • Educate operations leaders on contractual rights, obligations, and best practices
  • Provide additional administrative and operational support to the legal department as needed
