About The Position
The Freelance Firm is a national network of experienced, high-level, freelance attorneys and paralegals providing remote, on-demand support for legal projects for client law firms. Due to increased demand, they are interviewing for qualified, experienced, and dedicated Ohio Family Law & Civil Litigation Paralegals. Remote work hours will vary, but qualified candidates may have the opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Paralegal with direct experience in Family Law and/or Civil Litigation matters
- Strong understanding of Ohio court procedures, filing requirements, and litigation deadlines
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple matters and competing deadlines efficiently
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Self-starter who can proactively move cases forward and anticipate attorney needs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Trial preparation and litigation support experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Managing active case files from inception through resolution
- Drafting pleadings, motions, correspondence, discovery requests and responses, and other litigation-related documents
- Assisting with all phases of discovery, including document review, organization, and production
- Scheduling hearings, mediations, depositions, and other case-related events
- Client communication and case management
- Trial preparation and litigation support
