We are looking for you! Provide legal expertise & support internal stakeholders (eg. business developers, legal, Procurement) in order to manage litigation and support legal department functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5 years experience as a paralegal.
  • Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future. This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship.
  • Strong knowledge of legal billing practices and experience with e-billing software (e.g., BrightFlag, LegalTracker).
  • Proficiency in drafting corporate governance documents and managing multi-entity structures.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with executive leadership and external law firms.

Nice To Haves

  • A Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program is a plus.
  • Experience in the use of Google Workspace applications is a plus.
  • Prefer a mix of top-tier law firm and in-house experience.
  • Prior industrial gas experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support the issuance, tracking, and management of all litigation hold notices to internal custodians using automated software; safeguard the integrity of the preservation process to avoid spoliation.
  • Guide and coordinate the legal billing lifecycle, including reviewing outside counsel invoices for alignment with billing guidelines, managing e-billing software, coordinating payment approvals with accounts payable personnel, and reporting on monthly legal spend.
  • Develop and implement complex search terms for data harvesting; coordinate the collection and transfer of electronically stored information (ESI) to external vendors or counsel, verifying adherence to best practices for discovery of ESI.
  • Contribute to the preparation and management of corporate resolutions, officer/director appointment certificates, and annual filings for various national subsidiaries; maintain the digital corporate minute book; verify that corporate records are up to date with respect to officers and directors of multiple Air Liquide entities.
  • Act as the key point of contact for third-party subpoenas, gathering responsive records and coordinating with internal departments for timely production.
  • Perform substantive legal and factual research from time to time as requested by in-house attorneys using Westlaw, LexisNexis, or public records.
  • Provide support for other administrative duties as necessary to meet the needs of the legal department.
