About The Position

CGS is seeking a Paralegal to join our team supporting the legal mission of a large federal agency in Nashville, TN. This position will allow candidates to demonstrate expertise in providing litigation support tasks like legal research, hearing and trial prep, and legal drafting. Requirements

  • Must be a United States citizen
  • Must have multiple years experience working as a Paralegal/Legal Assistant.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.
  • Willing to work on-site 5 days a week

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with bankruptcy litigation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Providing paralegal support for bankruptcy trial preparation and litigation.
  • Requesting and coordinating for information from various parties which require discretion and independent judgment in the application of specialized knowledge of laws, precedent decisions, regulations, agency policies, and judicial or administrative proceedings.
  • Applying paramount knowledge requirements and practical knowledge of bankruptcy subject matter areas related to the agency's substantive programs.
  • Working closely with the assigned attorney or government official to provide required assistance.
  • Researching a variety of sources of information for facts relating to matters of interest to the Program.
  • Reviewing documents and assisting in extracting selected data and information relating to specific items.
  • Reviewing cases for specific indicia and researching concerning additional information.
  • Attending hearings, dispositions, or court appearances to become informed on administrative and/or court procedures and the status of cases and assisting with the preparation of written reports concerning observations.
  • Communicating orally and in writing in a professional manner with attorneys, parties, court personnel and others.
  • Entering and capturing information timely and accurately into systems, including calendars, files, and program system databases (ACMS, SARS, etc.).
  • Reviewing, sorting, delivering and saving electronic and paper mail and other communications in a manner to support pulling and using in a reasonable time.
  • Assisting with file creation, preparation, and organization.
  • Assisting with preparation for hearings, including the preparation and organization of pleadings, exhibits, witnesses, and other related matters.
