About The Position

Cipriani & Werner is seeking a General Liability Paralegal to join its growing team at the Woodbridge Office in Iselin, New Jersey. The role supports defense matters and involves independently preparing subpoenas, reviewing and summarizing discovery responses and medical records, coordinating Independent Medical Examinations, managing deadlines, drafting motions, and conducting searches. This is an in-person position in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.

Requirements

Paralegal certificate or bachelor’s degree.
At least 5 years of experience as a New York defense paralegal.
Experience working on New York cases.
Self-motivated, independent thinker with excellent time-management skills, strong organizational skills, and outstanding communication skills.
Ability to work as a team member in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience working on New Jersey cases.
Experience using the NY NYCHA/E-track filing system, NJ ECourts, and PACER.
Experience in commercial motor vehicle defense, UM/UIM, premises liability, construction accident, and product liability.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, ProLaw, Excel, and e-document management software.

Responsibilities

Independently prepare subpoenas and review and summarize discovery responses and medical records completely.
Schedule, notice, confirm, gather, and produce records related to Independent Medical Examinations.
Calendar relevant deadlines and provide strong follow-up.
Draft motions to compel, motions for sanctions, motions for extraordinary relief, and motions to enforce subpoenas.
Perform verdict, docket, social media, and background searches.
