About The Position
Strong and Hanni is seeking a knowledgeable, talented, and driven Paralegal to provide direct assistance to attorneys in an insurance defense practice group. The role assists attorneys throughout all stages of litigation and trial work, including preparing documents needed for litigation. Personal injury or prior insurance defense experience is preferred. This is a full-time, in-office position in the firm's Salt Lake City, Utah office. Strong and Hanni was established in 1888 and is one of Utah's respected and experienced law firms. The firm has 100 attorneys and practices in areas including commercial litigation, corporate and commercial representation, general business, securities, tax, employment law, construction law, governmental liability, family law, product liability, and professional liability.
Requirements
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Experience drafting complaints, motions, answers, and other pleadings.
- Knowledge of local court rules.
- Ability to perform legal research and correspondence.
- Strong organizational skills and a professional presentation.
- Excellent computer and organizational abilities.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in personal injury or prior insurance defense work.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, collect, summarize, and organize information, data, and evidence for attorneys to use in hearings or trials.
- Prepare legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, and interrogatories.
- Assist attorneys by researching legal precedent, investigating facts, and preparing legal documents.
- Conduct research to support legal proceedings, formulate a defense or cause of action, and initiate legal proceedings.
- Prepare and organize case research, notes, medical records, legal documents, and client materials.
- Gather and analyze research data, including statutes, decisions, legal articles, codes, and documents.
- Verify, edit, and proofread legal documents; research medical records and public and private records.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
