About The Position

Come join a growing financial technology company that’s leading the marketplace in both the marketing and servicing of credit cards! Continental Finance Company specializes in credit card options for those consumers with less than perfect credit. We are seeking an entry level Paralegal to join our Legal Operations team. We are seeking motivated professionals to support litigation, serve as a liaison with other business units, and play a key role within Continental Finance’s Legal Operations department. The successful candidate will also work closely with the Legal Department team and coordinate with other business teams to help achieve the company’s objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Social Sciences, Business, or a related field required.
  • 0-2 years of relevant professional or internship experience.
  • Strong organizational and documentation management skills.
  • Strong investigative and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written communication and case documentation abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and regulatory awareness.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.

Nice To Haves

  • Paralegal certificate from an accredited program is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience working in financial services, fintech, banking, or consumer credit industries preferred.
  • Notary Public commission is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct investigations related to consumer claims and prepare detailed case summaries/litigation reports.
  • Identify and obtain all relevant records required for litigation matters and coordinate with internal teams as needed.
  • Communicate with claimants, opposing counsel, and third parties regarding claims and litigation matters when appropriate.
  • Confirm settlement terms and coordinate settlement paperwork.
  • Maintain litigation tracking logs and case management records.
  • Prepare litigation status reports and updates for Legal Department leadership.
  • Review, process, and assist in responding to subpoenas, civil investigative demands, and other legal requests.
  • Coordinate document collection and prepare responses in collaboration with the Legal Department.
  • Ensure responses meet applicable legal deadlines and requirements.
  • Assist in implementation of Legal Operations processes.
  • Support special projects as may be requested.
