About The Position

CGS is seeking a Paralegal to join our team supporting the legal mission of a large federal agency in Tulsa, OK. This position will allow candidates to demonstrate expertise in providing litigation support tasks like legal research, legal drafting, and administrative support to multiple attorneys. Requirements

  • Paralegal Certificate or Associates Degree, or an equivalent level of legal experience.
  • Valid United States driver’s license and reliable transportation as well as being able to pass a security clearance background check.
  • Multiple years of Paralegal experience to include administrative tasks, drafting, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • Accounting background and experience using online legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis

Responsibilities

  • Requesting and coordinating for information from various parties which require discretion and independent judgment in the application of specialized knowledge of laws, precedent decisions, regulations, agency policies, and judicial or administrative proceedings.
  • Assisting with preparation for hearings, including the preparation and organization of pleadings, exhibits, witnesses, and other related matters.
  • Attending hearings, dispositions, or court appearances to become informed on administrative and/or court procedures and the status of cases and assisting with the preparation of written reports concerning observations.
  • Researching, analyzing, and summarizing legal precedents, preparing legal digests, processing debt collection claims referred by client agencies, and making decisions regarding debt compromise, write-offs, and referrals back to originating agencies.
  • Tracking case progress, ensuring legal pleadings, reports, correspondence, and other documentation are completed and submitted within established deadlines.
