About The Position

Musick, Peeler & Garrett LLP is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our Los Angeles office (a minimum of 5 years of experience). This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position with a hybrid schedule. After 45 days of employment, the role is eligible for two remote workdays per week. This role supports a broad range of litigation matters, including business, employment, and insurance cases. The ideal candidate is highly organized and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. This candidate is responsive, able to manage multiple priorities at once, and maintain a strong attention to detail. We are seeking a proactive and dependable paralegal who takes pride in producing thoughtful, high-quality work. This role involves close collaboration within the paralegal team and with attorneys to support client matters, manage projects efficiently, and ensure consistent, reliable service to our clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program or equivalent
  • Minimum five years of civil litigation experience in a law firm environment
  • Strong background in e-discovery, including e-discovery platform administration and document production management
  • Trial experience, including preparation of pre-trial pleadings, exhibit and witness lists, and providing support during and after trial
  • Experience supporting attorneys at depositions, mediations, and arbitrations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong focus on accuracy and quality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word (2010 or higher), Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Westlaw/Lexis Nexis experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with iManage or a similar document management system preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of civil litigation matters, including organization and review of client documents
  • Review, redact, and prepare documents for production
  • Manage and support all phases of e-discovery, including administering and navigating platforms; coordinate document collection and production, maintain data integrity, and assist attorneys with production deadlines
  • Retrieve, organize, and prepare exhibits for court filings
  • Review discovery, summarize depositions, and assist in preparing discovery responses
  • Analyze medical and billing records, including preparation of page and line summaries
  • Prepare subpoenas and coordinate document productions
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with attorneys, staff, clients, courts, and outside vendors
  • Assist with document analysis, chart preparation, jurisdictional research, and expert information gathering as needed
