We are seeking a high-performing and detail-oriented individual to join our Real Estate Department. This hybrid position offers a work schedule of 3 days a week in either our Seattle or Portland office.

Requirements

  • Self-motivated with a passion for continuous learning and problem-solving.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Keen attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
  • Work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of paralegal experience, preferably in a law firm setting.
  • Proven experience managing and tracking large document submissions or transactions.
  • Experience in commercial real estate or finance is strongly preferred.
  • Title and survey experience required.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills are essential with exceptional drafting and proofreading skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, document management systems, and time-keeping software.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive checklists for large-scale real estate transactions and meticulously track all associated documents.
  • Manage diligence processes, facilitate transaction coordination, and collaborate with teams to ensure successful transaction closures.
  • Prepare closing indices, binders, and follow up on a diverse range of post-closing matters.
  • Review survey and title commitments, addressing comments from counterparties.
  • Collaborate with title companies to finalize title policies and coordinate document recordation.
  • Prepare signature page packets and manage the closing process among various stakeholders.
  • Assist attorneys in preparation for closings and attend closings as needed.
  • Monitor transaction tasks and timelines, communicating progress and resolutions to the team.
  • Engage with vendors and agencies to obtain necessary due certificates and searches.
  • Conduct research and gather pertinent information using legal research tools and public databases.
  • Explore industry databases and government resources to support transactions.
  • Adapt to other tasks as client needs evolve.
