We are seeking a paralegal in our Seattle office to become a key member of our nationally recognized real estate finance team representing clients in structuring, documenting, closing, servicing, and restructuring real estate loans. This position is hybrid and offers a work schedule of 3 days a week in our Seattle office.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years prior experience as a paralegal in real estate finance or transactional finance including title and survey review.
  • Demonstrated ability to track and follow through on diligence and closing items with strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Intermediate level of technical proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (including Excel) and document management systems.
  • Experience supporting multiple concurrent transactions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Self-motivated with a passion for continuous learning and problem-solving.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent technical writing skills are essential. Prompt responsiveness to meet timing expectations and communicate timing of deliverables.
  • Keen attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
  • The ability to work independently, as well as with a team and with clients. Work collaboratively in a strong team environment.
  • Intermediate-level skills working with Microsoft Office applications, document management systems and time-keeping software are necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with multi-family, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, and secured lending transactions involving commercial real estate commercial asset classes is highly preferable.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing documentation for closings, including organizing, proofreading, and assembling documents, coordinating and managing signature packages, and maintaining large deal files for transactions involving multiple properties.
  • Drafting loan and assignment documents; assist with drafting of loan servicing memoranda.
  • Conducting due diligence, including review of title commitments, surveys, UCC and other lien searches, zoning and environmental reports, and tracking related issues through resolution.
  • Reviewing organizational charts and entity documents to identify relevant entities and support diligence and closing requirements (including determining appropriate search parties and signatories).
  • Coordinating with title companies and other third parties in connection with title, survey, and zoning matters.
  • Coordinating closing and post-closing logistics including closing binders.
  • Preparing UCC Financing Statements.
  • Managing online SharePoint sites.
  • Researching industry databases, publicly available information from local governments and other sources, and applicable law.
  • Independently managing discrete components of transactions under attorney supervision, including tracking diligence and closing workstreams and ensuring follow-through on open items.
  • Remaining actively engaged on assigned transactions, anticipating needs and stepping in as needed to support the deal team.
