About The Position

Speaks Law Firm is seeking an experienced Personal Injury Litigation Case Manager (Paralegal) to join their Wilmington, NC office. The firm values its team members as the driving force behind its success and client value. Candidates must have a minimum of three (3) years of litigation case management experience specific to personal injury. The position requires the ability to work on-site from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a personal injury law firm or equivalent required
  • Passion for advocating for our clients and maintaining a positive attitude required
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail required
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills required
  • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate and collaborate with clients and colleagues

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree or higher preferred
  • Paralegal certificate a plus

Responsibilities

  • Maintain effective communication with attorneys, clients, insurance adjusters, and other professionals to discuss assigned cases or projects
  • Draft legal documents including routine pleadings and motions, affidavits, and interrogatories; file motions and pleadings according to judicial procedures
  • Research and analyze statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provide written analysis to attorneys
  • Interview clients and witnesses and prepare summaries of their statements
  • Prepare, organize, store, and retrieve case files, which may include evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other items
  • Monitor & manage client’s medical treatment
  • Send requests for information including medical records & billing
  • Organize and maintain electronic client files
  • Prepare and electronically file general correspondence, e-mails, demand packages and other exhibits
  • Understand subrogation liens & disputing unrelated charges
  • Ability to complete balance sheets accurately reflecting Rule 414 payments/adjustments
  • Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and other health insurance portals
  • Other duties as assigned
