About The Position

We are seeking a passionate, detail‑oriented and collaborative Marketing Compliance Paralegal to join our Legal team. In this role, you will support the review of advertising and promotional materials by applying established compliance and claims guidelines, identifying potential issues, and routing materials through the legal review process. You will work closely with Marketing, Product, Brands, and Legal partners to help ensure marketing materials and initiatives are engaging, well‑executed, and aligned with applicable advertising, consumer protection, and regulatory standards across the U.S. and Canada. This role is well suited for a paralegal who enjoys working at the intersection of creative business teams and legal, and who plays a key role in enabling timely and effective legal engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Paralegal certification
  • 3+ years of paralegal experience supporting advertising, marketing compliance, or promotional review, ideally in a consumer products or regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with U.S. and Canadian advertising and consumer protection principles with experience applying established guidelines and review processes.
  • High level strength in Microsoft Office 365 and Document Management Systems.
  • Professional proficiency in French and English (written and verbal); ability to review and support marketing materials in both languages.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with business and legal partners.
  • Proven integrity and strong legal operations mindset; ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently guide stakeholders toward established review processes to support efficient workflows, consistent outcomes, and proactive risk mitigation.
  • Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of constituents, including various internal business clients and legal colleagues at different levels within the organization globally, outside counsel in North America and abroad.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with FDA, Health Canada, or other regulated‑product advertising requirements is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct first‑line reviews of advertising and promotional materials to ensure implementation of approved claims, disclosures and disclaimers using established guidance, substantiation documentation, and input from subject matter experts.
  • Ensure all materials align with applicable consumer protection, regulatory and compliance requirement, including FTC and Competition Bureau applicable standards, intellectual property clearance permissions, and internal marketing guidelines.
  • Ensure required disclosures are included and presented clearly
  • Determine whether materials may be approved by legal department within the normal review process or should be escalated for attorney, compliance officer or other subject matter expert input, due to novelty, sensitivity, regulatory considerations, or potential unsuitability of existing guidance.
  • Draft, update, and maintain marketing compliance procedures, guidelines, templates, playbooks, and training materials based on best practices, attorney input, and learnings from prior projects, including initiatives that raised new or emerging issues and resulted in legal guidance.
  • Partner with Marketing, Product, Brands, and Legal teams to manage review workflows, revisions, and approvals to support timely campaign execution and consistency across applicable channels.
