About The Position

The Litigation Paralegal provides comprehensive support to attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, from case inception through trial and appeal. This role is responsible for managing case files, coordinating discovery, preparing legal documents, assisting with trial preparation, and maintaining effective communication with clients, courts, experts, and opposing counsel. The Litigation Paralegal serves as a critical member of the litigation team, ensuring cases are managed efficiently and deadlines are met.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or higher, paralegal certificate, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 or more years of litigation paralegal experience.
  • Strong knowledge of civil litigation procedures and court rules.
  • Experience with state and federal court filings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with document management, e-discovery, and litigation support software.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation, including case intake, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and appeals.
  • Draft, revise, proofread, and file pleadings, motions, notices, subpoenas, discovery requests and responses, correspondence, and other legal documents.
  • Manage and maintain electronic and physical case files.
  • Track litigation deadlines, court dates, hearing schedules, and filing requirements.
  • Coordinate and oversee the discovery process, including document collection, review, production, and organization.
  • Summarize medical records, deposition transcripts, discovery responses, and other case-related materials.
  • Coordinate scheduling of depositions, mediations, hearings, expert consultations, and client meetings.
  • Prepare exhibits, witness files, trial notebooks, and demonstrative evidence for hearings and trials.
  • Assist attorneys during depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials as needed.
  • Conduct legal, factual, and public records research.
  • E-file documents in state and federal courts and ensure compliance with applicable court rules and procedures.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, experts, court personnel, opposing counsel, and vendors.
  • Monitor case budgets, costs, and expenses as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and firm information.
  • Other duties as assigned
