About The Position

The Legal Assistant role at Frank S. Buck, P.C. is pivotal in maintaining the firm's high standard of client service and legal success. Key to managing approximately 50–60 personal injury cases, this role supports the firm's mission of personalized, effective legal advocacy. Working closely with the attorneys, the Legal Assistant will ensure seamless case management from intake to resolution, profoundly impacting client experiences and outcomes.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in personal injury litigation, with expertise in managing a high-volume caseload.
• Proficiency in drafting complaints, preparing discovery, and handling cases through litigation stages.
• Exceptional organizational abilities to manage numerous cases and maintain detailed records efficiently.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to manage client interactions effectively.
• Experience with Google Suite and willingness to learn case management software like Prevail.
• Must be local to Birmingham, AL, with a strong preference for candidates from Jefferson County.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high-volume caseload of approximately 50–60 personal injury cases from intake to settlement.
• Draft and file complaints, prepare and answer discovery, and support cases through litigation when necessary.
• Consistently update and manage client expectations, providing a reliable point of contact for client concerns.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive records in the case management system, ensuring all files are current.
• Prepare demand packages and negotiate settlements with insurance companies to advocate for client rights.
• Order, track, and organize medical records and bills, ensuring accurate subrogation handling.
• Collaborate with paralegals and attorneys to improve intake procedures and overall case management workflows.
