About The Position

A well-established boutique law firm in Key West is seeking an exceptional Paralegal or Legal Assistant to join their practice. The firm is looking for a highly organized, polished, intelligent, and motivated professional who takes pride in doing excellent work and understands the importance of providing exceptional service to clients. The practice is sophisticated yet personal, valuing discretion, responsiveness, attention to detail, sound judgment, and professionalism. The position will work closely with the firm’s attorneys on a variety of real estate and transactional matters, with significant exposure to residential and commercial real estate transactions. This is an opportunity for someone who wants to be more than an administrative support person, offering meaningful responsibility for matters from beginning to end within a small, collaborative practice.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior real estate experience is strongly preferred
  • Experience with contracts, closings, title, due diligence, leases, or other transactional matters
  • Experience with Florida real estate contracts, closings, title, due diligence, leases, or related transactional work

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with residential and commercial real estate transactions from contract through closing
  • Prepare, organize, and review contracts, amendments, closing documents, leases, correspondence, and other legal documents
  • Coordinate with clients, realtors, title companies, lenders, surveyors, attorneys, and other professionals
  • Assist with title and due diligence matters
  • Monitor transaction timelines, contingencies, deadlines, and closing requirements
  • Maintain sophisticated and well-organized client and transaction files
  • Prepare correspondence, transaction checklists, closing documents, and other materials
  • Communicate directly with clients and other professionals in a courteous and professional manner
  • Assist with corporate, business, and other transactional matters
  • Anticipate attorney and client needs and proactively follow up on outstanding matters
  • Perform legal research and other duties as appropriate
