About The Position
AmTrust Financial Services, Inc., a fast-growing multinational property and casualty insurance company, has an immediate need for a Paralegal in their New Jersey Workers’ Compensation Staff Counsel team in Princeton, New Jersey. This is a deadline-driven work environment. The ability to stay organized, self-motivate, work independently and on a collaborative team is vital. Excellent time management is a must.
Requirements
- 3+ years of litigation experience
- 2+ years of Workers compensation defense exposure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing deadlines
- Reading and comprehending complex instructions from attorneys
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Nice To Haves
- An associate or bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate
Responsibilities
- Review and analysis of files before scheduled hearings, including written pre-hearing reports for multiple attorneys
- Pulling, organizing and bookmarking medical records on a regular basis
- Scheduling examinations with vendors and facilities
- Working with vendors to request and obtain records via subpoena/medical authorization; following up and organizing/summarizing upon receipt
- Composing routine correspondence, taking calls from attorneys, claims professionals, opposing counsel, and courts
- Experience working in an all-inclusive document management platform is required
