About The Position

AmTrust Financial Services, Inc., a fast-growing commercial insurance company, has an immediate need for an in-house Paralegal to work in our Florida Staff Counsel office. This position is hybrid 4 days a week in office out of our FL office.

Requirements

Formal paralegal certificate
3 or more years of experience as a paralegal
2 years demonstrated experience in defense litigation
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently and multi-task required
Dynamic deadline-oriented work environment

Nice To Haves

FL Workers’ Compensation experience preferred

Responsibilities

Research and analyze law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decision and legal articles to prepare legal documents including; briefs, pleadings, motions and appeals
Compile and prepare draft discovery responses.
Draft complex motions
Assist in the preparation for trials, including trial notebooks, exhibits, subpoenas and witness coordination
Communicate with clients, witnesses, adversaries, witnesses, court, and team members
Interact with people of all levels of the company as a member of the legal team
Capability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-oriented setting
Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet manner
Manage and prioritize completing deadlines
Maintain data integrity in computer platform
Support multiple attorneys in the defense of workers’ compensation cases.
