About The Position

The Paralegal I on the HSG Business Arrangements and Transactions (BAT) team is responsible for managing the high-volume, fast-paced contracting lifecycle for Hospital Services Agreements (HSAs). This role requires a strong grasp of drafting, redlining, and client's specific regulatory guidelines.

Requirements

Associate's Degree required
At least 1 year of experience as a Paralegal.
Proficiency in MS 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams required.
Certificate in Paralegal Studies required.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with an acute ability to listen attentively and to communicate effectively and positively interact with others across all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated professionalism and courtesy in responding to phone calls and emails.
Demonstrated interpersonal, collaborative, and relationship-building skills.
Excellent organizational, attention to detail, and project execution skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adjust priorities appropriately in an evolving work environment.
Self-directed; able to work independently and as a member of a team.
Demonstrated analytical ability to recognize issues, respond accordingly, and research and obtain resolution to problems.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Previous experience drafting and negotiating contracts preferred.

Responsibilities

Review intake forms and draft initial agreements and amendments.
Ensure that all drafts comply with Team Quest (TQ) handbook requirements and the HSG Preferred, Acceptable, Discouraged, Unacceptable (PADU) framework.
Create and maintain records in Jarvis and Eagle.
Finalize clean documents, route for internal and hospital signatures, and oversee the contract closeout process so the billing team (ROPS) can initiate invoicing.
Draft and process Short-Term Extensions (STEs), Notices of Non-Renewal (NNTR), Demand Letters, and Breach Letters for delinquent hospital accounts or operational disputes.
