Bowman and Brooke LLP is a national product liability law firm with 215 lawyers in 17 offices, renowned for defending major manufacturers in high-exposure, technically intricate lawsuits and mass torts across all 50 states. Having surpassed its 1,000th trial milestone, the firm is recognized as a leading product liability trial firm. To meet client demands, the firm is expanding its team and is actively seeking Trial Ready Litigation Paralegals to join their Costa Mesa (OCC) CA office. Paralegals are considered vital members of case teams, with their ideas and contributions highly valued.

  • Ability to travel nationwide to attend trial.
  • Must be familiar with and able to follow client billing guidelines, enter and record accurate billing entries.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree, Paralegal Certificate or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 4+ years’ litigation defense experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, edit and proofread a variety of documents (correspondence, agreements and pleadings).
  • Work with attorneys to keep litigation advancing in each case; including taking the initiative to regularly update team members on the status of cases and quickly alerting attorneys to important client and case needs.
  • Assist attorneys with discovery, including discovery requests, depositions and issuing subpoenas.
  • Assist with document review and analysis through various platforms.
  • Manage electronic case files using a document management system (iManage) to ensure information is organized and easy to locate.
  • Prepare for trial (including compiling trial materials, coordinating witnesses, preparing and issuing trial subpoenas, preparing and managing exhibits, attending trial).
  • Gather and analyze complex medical records needed to prepare medical chronologies.
