About The Position

Nelson Mullins, an AmLaw 100 Law Firm, is seeking a Paralegal Administrator to support the Paralegal Services team. The Paralegal Administrator provides day-to-day guidance to the paralegal coordinators to serve as a key support to the Paralegal Manager. This role helps ensure consistent onboarding, training, workflow coverage, and adherence to firm policies while monitoring performance, workload distribution, and service delivery across assigned practice groups. This role supports the Paralegal Manager in the day-to-day oversight of the Paralegal team, including managing, coaching, and mentoring paralegal coordinators. Responsibilities include assisting with performance evaluations, recruiting, and compensation processes, while serving as a liaison between coordinators, management, attorneys, and the paralegal committee. The position also monitors team workloads, coordinates staffing coverage, and identifies work allocation opportunities to ensure continuity of service. Additionally, this role helps assess ongoing training needs, partners with management and training resources to support development initiatives and communicates firm policies and procedures while appropriately escalating team concerns and operational issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least eight years of paralegal experience
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching, training, mentoring, or other leadership responsibilities
  • Strong understanding of law firm timekeeping practices
  • Strong understanding of utilization concepts
  • Strong understanding of professional standards
  • Ability to manage competing priorities
  • Ability to coordinate team coverage
  • Ability to make sound recommendations regarding workload distribution and overtime needs
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Experience using matter management systems
  • Experience using document management systems

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day guidance to paralegal coordinators.
