About The Position

The Attorney General’s Office is recruiting for a permanent full time Paralegal 2 Supervisor in the Antitrust Division. This position is located in Seattle, Washington, and is represented by the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE). The Paralegal 2 (Supervisor) position manages the division’s team of paralegals 1s and Legal Assistant and provides advanced legal professional support to the legal teams on the administrative aspects of a case. The Antitrust Division enforces state and federal antitrust laws. We bring cases for injunctive and monetary relief on behalf of consumers and the State of Washington in federal and state court. The Antitrust Division of the Washington State Attorney General’s Office is among the largest and most active state antitrust enforcers in the country. Our cases are complex, high stakes matters in a wide array of industries that affect the daily lives of all Washingtonians, including supermarkets, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, food products, and high tech. The Division has been a leader in pursuing groundbreaking enforcement actions, including a trial successfully enjoining the proposed merger of Kroger and Albertsons under state law, the removal of land use restrictions that blocked competition, and enforcement actions against overbroad non-compete agreements. The Antitrust Division is a member of the National Association of Attorneys General Antitrust Task Force and has an active multistate investigation and litigation practice. In addition, we frequently conduct joint investigations with the Federal Trade Commission and the Antitrust Division of the United States Department of Justice on significant competition matters affecting the people of the State of Washington. In addition to its enforcement activities, the Division regularly engages in competition advocacy and provides advice and training to state agencies and external stakeholders on competition-related matters. It also administers a premerger notification programs that require businesses to notify the AGO of proposed mergers, and acquisition, to enable the Division to review the transaction for potential anti-competitive effects.
