About The Position

Paraeducator Position (Grade Level General Para-5th Grade-1 position) 2026-2027 Reports to: Building Administrator 6.5 hours at the Elementary School. Pioneer School District serves approximately 750 P-8 students and encompasses a rural area east of Shelton in the South Puget Sound region. The district is mainly forested, accented by lakes and waterways with multiple recreational opportunities. The district's newer schools (remodeled and rebuilt in 2017) and its quality education coupled with its beautiful setting is attracting young families to the area. Requirements

  • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and others in a warm and confident manner.
  • Ability to provide reteaching of expectations and intervene when necessary
  • Ability to effectively and positively redirect student behaviors.
  • Ability to maintain professional communication with classroom teachers and administrators.
  • Ability to responsibly and respectfully supervise students, accompany students, and ensure appropriate discipline in the classrooms, halls, lunchroom and playground.
  • Ability to be supervised and work professionally with classroom teachers who design schedules and daily activities.
  • Ability to support students with academic support.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Complete applications which include a letter of application, a current resume, three (3) letters of reference, and High School Diploma or GED will be considered.
  • Satisfactory fingerprint and sexual misconduct background check.

Responsibilities

  • Provides instructional support, intervention services, one-on-one support services, tutoring, lunch supervision, student behavior management, general classroom assistance, and other duties as assigned in support of student needs dependent on position.
