This is a full-time Paraeducator Special Education position for 192 days per year, working 6.5 hours per day. The role involves assisting in the instruction of students with disabilities in various settings, including mainstream, resource room, or center-based classrooms. Responsibilities may vary based on student age and disability level but can include behavior management, monitoring and recording student progress in academic and daily living skills, and assisting with physical needs such as toileting, feeding, dressing, lifting, and transporting students. The position requires the ability to work cooperatively with students and staff, take direction, maintain regular attendance, and be physically present in the building. Candidates must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and perform all position responsibilities, including assisting with toileting, feeding, and self-care, implementing behavior management programs, maintaining student data, and working with students who may exhibit challenging behaviors.
