About The Position
The Paraeducator, Special Education assists a certificated instructor in assigned areas and helps maintain a classroom conducive to learning. The position requires experience toileting and feeding special education students. Applicants who do not meet the minimum qualifications for a permanent position may apply to be added to the substitute list; substitute applicants are stated to need no experience or education.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- An associate degree or 48 units from an institution of higher education; alternatively, a passing grade on all sections of an assessment test given by SCOE or any California school district and at least two college units or CEUs in a related field.
- At least six months of experience working with children.
- CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain certification.
- Experience toileting and feeding special education students.
Nice To Haves
- Possession of a valid California driver’s license is preferred.
