Perform skilled and confidential support to the classroom teacher as required. This role involves assisting with IEP transition support plans, preparing and conducting transition IEP interviews, and collaborating with the Transition Specialist and IEP manager to determine appropriate student assessments. The paraeducator will also distribute transition information, assist in gathering contact information from students prior to graduation, and conduct follow-up calls to special education students who left the high school in the prior year. Additionally, the role includes assisting the high school special education secretary with preparing documentation for IEP and re-evaluation meetings, preparing prior written notices, and potentially scheduling appointments and creating/mailing IEP invitations. The position also involves assisting with online student IEPs, evaluations, and program documentation, as well as performing other assigned duties.
