About The Position

Provides individual behavior intervention and medical support to students in classroom settings and assists individuals or small groups of students to enhance learning. Assists teachers with instruction and classroom management in special education and general education classrooms, lunchrooms, and play-field environments. The position is at Grant HS, works 7 hours per day, 5 days per week, and has a 182-work-day year.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a competency assessment demonstrating knowledge and ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics; at least 48 college credit units may substitute for the assessment.
• Provide proof of high school graduation and NCLB compliance through 48 semester college units or passing the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam.
• Provide a resume showing clear evidence of required experience.
• May require a valid driver’s license.
• Must comply with District skill and competency requirements.
• May require a valid First Aid/CPR card; CPR/First Aid certification is listed among required application documents.
